Bill Goodrich, Multimedia Director
Hometown:
Dana Point, CA
Being an "Army brat," we moved all over the world when i was a kid. My favorite place was Taiwan. I lived there for 7 years of my childhood, learning Chinese throughout Jr and Sr High. That's where i got the Asian blood in me. My Dad, a retired Colonel, brought our family to south Orange County in 1969, where our relatives lived. Now, living here for all these years, i call Dana Point my hometown.
Family Info:
My folks, 3 sisters, a couple nephews, and all my kids in Mexico, Russia, Burma, Thailand, Bali, Indonesia, and Singapore.
How did you come to CBC?
I used to come listen to Pastor
Chuck Jr in the early 90's. I started volunteering on Easter
1995. I was a journeyman/foreman electrician in the Electrical
Union, remodelling a school that was about to start
their fall session. We had to go on night shifts to accommodate, but
i was at church almost every night helping out in
the video department. I couldn't do both and knew God's
calling, so i ended up volunteering for 3 years,
and then applied for the job here. I'm happy to say, i've
been here ever since.
What is your role at CBC?
It's fun synchronizing and troubleshooting and helping the services go smoothly and then getting messages on the web, but working in the office during the week is awesome too. I'm honored to work with all the talented people at CBC.
What is the best part about your role?
Helping people. I also get to play with all the Video Sound and Lighting equipment. Actually, all the great young men and women in the department do most of the playing, but i get to watch.
If you were a color, what color would you be?
I love the Rainbow. It reminds me that i can abide and get through the stormy parts of life. The Rainbow is a mixture of all the colors, the ones we like and the ones we don't particularly like, similar to our lives having good things and bad. If we can't avoid the bad things, we have to endure them. They're like the colors we don't like. The more we're able to tolerate the bad things, the happier our life will be, just like when we tolerate the colors we don't particularly like, to help make up a beautiful Rainbow. God uses it all to help us grow.
God made the Rainbow as a symbol of one of His promises to us... how cool is that!
What do you count as the greatest invention of the last 100 years?
Computer
What is your favorite place on the earth?
Thailand
What makes you laugh?
Kids
What makes you cry?
Weddings, divorces, memorials, commercials, kids, love, etc. Not being able to help someone in need.
