I have been married to Carmen, my college sweetheart since 1989. Together we have 4 heaven sent children who we are privileged to love and be loved by. Our greatest goal as parents is to raise our sons and daughters to be men and women who love God and commit their lives to Him. Our aim is to continuously point them towards Jesus through the good and bad times in life.
How did you come to CBC?
Good friends of ours from college attended CBC and they told us it was a great church to attend. Since after college we had been looking for a church we could call home. It did not take long for us to realize that CBC was home. I especially like the fact that it was ok for leaders of the church to wear shorts, wrinkled shirts and Rainbow flip-flops to the services on Sunday morning.
What is your role at CBC?
I have heard people refer to me as the relationship pastor. I grew up in a large close-knit family who lived out in the desert. We talked and played all the time because we didn't have much else to do. I still love talking and connnecting with people. Especially, if we can talk about things that really matter in life - like God and His son, Jesus, and about what the Holy Spirit is doing in our lives.
What is the best part about your role?
The best part of my role as an associate pastor here at CBC is that I get to care for people and through the power of God help make an eternal difference.
If you were a color, what color would you be?
It probably wouldn't matter much since I don't look at myself that often. BTW, if you see a booger in my nose or something is amiss, please let me know.
What do you count as the greatest invention of the last 100 years?
No doubt - the ipod or probably the iphone (I have Sprint so I haven't been able to experience the joys of the iphone.)
What is your favorite place on the earth?
Any place with warm clear water, clear blue skies, warm humid air, lush green plants and where no one is in a hurry to get some place.
What makes you laugh?
Something funny that is not me.
What makes you cry?
Smoke in my eyes makes me cry.
If you could be on any reality television show, which one would it be?
If I could be on any reality television show, I ... wouldn't be. Reality shows make me uncomfortable for some reason. I much more prefer a fantasy show.
